Te Anau and the Morning Fog

Offer the gift of private meditation or yoga to loved ones and families

Perhaps you have a friend who has endured a loss of some sort. Perhaps a family member has met some challenging times of transition. Maybe there’s someone that immediately came to mind whom you’d like to offer a random act of kindness for which they wouldn’t typically think to gift themselves. That person could even be your future self. You might offer the experiential gift of private meditation for the holidays or simply because 2021 has been a really weird year. If you would like to give the gift of private guided meditation or yoga to someone you love, gift cards are available here.

I’d love to sit with whoever it is you have in mind – a singular person, family, or small group – in the virtual space and offer private guided meditation or private yoga to meet them where they are, no prior experience necessary. Together, the recipient(s) and I would schedule a time to honor their needs and we’d connect by their choice of Zoom meeting or voice call. The session could be a virtual gathering through the ether via livestreamed video or one that is entirely discreet without any video at all and simply listening with earbuds to honor privacy. The choice would be theirs.

This offering was birthed from the realization of how dysregulating big events can be both in the buildup and the comedown. When my mom was in neurosurgery in Boston, the hours and hours of waiting were unbearable. I distinctly remember sitting in the hospital's family library which was used as a weird waiting room for what I can only imagine were the major events. The room was nearly silent and I remember looking for anything to keep my mind occupied, not knowing whether or not my mom would wake up. I checked my email on the computers there and didn’t read a single word that my eyes scanned. I retched into a bin after receiving the update that she was alive but they couldn’t get all of the tumor. Looking back, I truly wish I could have had a live human in my ear reminding me that breathing is a necessary act in living and that there was still solid ground beneath my feet.

It would be a true honor to facilitate and support other humans as they uncover handfuls of peace all on their own via practice. If you have any questions about meditation or yoga as a gift, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
